Great painter of landscapes, with a great love for the mountains. Very interesting, in my opinion, is the sequence of paintings depicting Mount Hood, where it can be seen that the subject (Mt. Hood), while remaining the same, instead changes the surrounding landscape. The eye of the artist manages to capture every time an aspect of nature that is always different. In fact it is just like that, because the same landscape, even if observed thousands of times, is never always the same, but is full of novelties, which, especially the expert eye of the artist, can see, and to represent them in the canvas.
