Fanny Flora Palmer gained an excellent reputation as litographer, working for Currier & Ives. She completed several hundred litographs and her work was widely reproduced as popular prints and engravings. She captured the spirit of the new nation and the pioneers lives, even though, quite ironically, she never went west of New York.
